International Drive. The heart of Orlando’s shopping scene.

Less than a mile from Vista Cay is the International Drive, often referred to as I Drive, which is one of the world’s most famous tourism strips with an eclectic mix of shops and restaurants, and attractions. If you are looking for souvenirs, brand names, or something a bit more upscale, International Drive is a great start.

Pointe Orlando

Located: 9101 International Dr, Orlando, FL 32819

Pointe Orlando is approximately a 5-minute drive from Vista Cay and offers a wide range of shopping, restaurants, and attractions. Point Orlando is a dining trove of restaurants. There are also numerous boutique stores like Purple Glass and Biju’s offering unique jewelry accessories.

Icon Park

Located: 8375 International Drive, Orlando, FL 32819

Icon Park is located next to the Point Orlando and again is a great mix of shops and restaurants. This is a very tourist-friendly area and also has, in the center, a large Ferris wheel which is easily visible from most areas of Central Florida.

Independent shops on International Drive.

International Drive is full of souvenir shops up and down. When you drive up and down or take an Uber, you’ll see numerous ones to choose from, and often these are a lot cheaper than buying your souvenirs directly from any theme park.

Factory Outlets

The factory outlets located at either end of International Drive are extremely popular with brand-name and designer stores located within. One of the major advantages is that the prices are usually a discount deeper than if you’re buying directly from the retailer or buying in a conventional Mall.

Orlando Vineland Premium Outlets

Located: 8200 Vineland Ave, Orlando, FL 32821

This is a very popular Factory Outlet Store, approximately 6 miles or about a 10-minute drive from Vista Cay

The Vineland Premium Outlets have over 160 stores with both designer and brand names. The mall claims you can save up to 65% from traditional retail outlets.

Orlando International Premium Outlets.

Located: 4951 International Dr, Orlando, FL 32819

This is our preferred outlet mall in part because it is only located about 3 miles away from Vista Cay. This particular outlet mall offers about 180 stores of premium and brand names, usually greatly discounted from the price you will see in retail stores, and is extremely popular.

Traditional Malls.

There are two traditional malls in proximity to Vista Cay, the first is the Mall of Millennia, which is a premium mall with conventional Brands as well as high-end luxury brands. The second mall is the Florida Mall, which has more Brands and independent-type stores.

The Florida Mall

Located: 8001 S Orange Blossom Trail, Orlando, FL 32809

The Florida Mall offers major department stores such as Macy’s and Dillard’s and has also specialty stores such as the Apple Store and Zara. There are several unique shops within the Florida Mall, which also include the Disney Store, M&M’s, and Crayola World. This is a conventional mall that offers fully covered indoor shopping is great on a hot day or especially on a rainy afternoon.

The Mall of Millennia.

Located: 4200 Conroy Rd, Orlando, FL 32839

The Mall of Millennia is located approximately 6 miles from Vista  Cay Resort, and is a more upscale luxury-type mall. You will see luxury brands in there, such as Louis Vuitto,n Gucci, Prada, Rolex, Tiffany, as well as more standard brand names like Anthropologie, Lulu Lemon, and the Apple store. There are also high-end restaurants such as PF Changs, The Cheesecake Factory, and so forth. Again, this mall makes for a fun shopping experience, especially on a rainy afternoon in Florida. They do offer other features such as valet parking, not that it’s really needed, and there are also major department stores, including upper-end chains such as Neiman Marcus.

When visiting Vista Cay and shopping in Orlando, some key factor takeaways are.

  1. Location. If you are going by car, all the shopping experiences are very convenient and easy to get to, and all have plenty of parking. However, if you do not have a car, then the easiest way is probably to Uber each direction, and you can check on your app, Uber or Lyft, how much it would cost.
  1. Budget. Again, look at the type of shopping you want to do, whether it’s higher-end, mid-scale scale or just general tourist shopping, that will determine which stores and malls you go to.
  1. Timing. When going to the malls, do remember certain times of year, such as Christmas, they can get very, very packed. Also, the factory outlets, especially the Premium Factory Outlets, can get very busy during any month, especially during peak seasons. Also, parking can get a little frustrating; you just have to be patient.

In summary, Vista Cay Resort is located centrally for shopping and provides a great base from which to reach out to the different malls, factory outlets, and tourism shops that surround it.
