1. Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge – Perhaps the most popular part of Disney’s Hollywood Studios is the Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge area. The two big rides are Star Wars Rise of the Resistance, which is an amazing ride that takes guests into the middle of a battle in Star Wars, and then the second major ride is Millennium Falcon Smugglers Run, where passengers are literally on the Millennium Falcon as a Smuggler running through the galaxy.

2. Toy Story Land – Toy Story Land is perhaps the second most popular ride at Hollywood Studios and features the Slinky Dog Dash, which is a family roller coaster, and then there’s also Toy Story Mania, which is a 4D interactive shooting game.

• Buy Tickets and Make Reservations:– We recommend that when visiting any of the Disney parks, like Hollywood Studios, you make reservations if necessary, especially during Peak months, and purchase the tickets directly online with the theme park. This will avoid buying tickets and having problems with third-party resellers and will mean you can avoid timeshare tours.
• Lightning Lane Passes are they with it? One of the unfortunate things with Disney now being so busy and lines even in the slow season often being 1 hour has meant that they have developed things like Lightning Pass Lane tickets. Check again on the theme park websites, but often these can double the price of your ticket admission to the park in order that you don’t have to line up as long. Whether this is a good deal or not is really up to you

• Avoiding crowds. Weather Considerations: One of the key things to consider when visiting anything park in Central Florida on the weather conditions. Florida, especially in the summer months, is known for having tropical afternoon storms, and they are also items such as hurricanes that often come through, so you do look at the weather. The best months of the year usually come in are also the busiest, which would be spring break.
• Crowd and Considerations: The slowest months of the year to visit Hollywood Studios would be September, the 1st 3 weeks of December, and probably the last 3 weeks of August. This means if the parks are slower, you would avoid the crowds. Vista Cay Resort is located just off Universal Boulevard, very close to Interstate 4, and you can easily take I-4 to go directly into Disney to get to Hollywood Studios. The drive time from Vista Kay to Hollywood Studios is about 15 minutes or 13.1 miles.

What is the best way to get to Hollywood Studios from Vista Cay Resort?

The best way to get to Hollywood Studios from Vista Cay is by car. But do understand that when parking at Hollywood Studios, parking fees can generally be around $30 +/- per day and are subject to change. If you do not wish to drive and perhaps even want some flexibility, and even might like to have a drink while at Hollywood Studios, then you can take an Uber or Lyft ride share, which will pick you up outside your building and take you all the way to the passenger drop-off area at Hollywood Studios. The cost of this will change based on time of day, but as of 2025, it is typically $25 to $35 each way. Check on your ride share app before you leave. 

Does Vista Cay Resort have a shuttle to Hollywood Studios?

Vista Cay Resort in Orlando, Florida, does not have a shuttle bus to Hollywood studios. As a rule, even when staying at hotels, we do not recommend taking shuttle buses as you are subject to their schedule, which sometimes changes without notice, and sometimes, especially during peak season, shuttle buses can be full. We recommend either driving or taking a ride-share service such as Uber to get to Hollywood Studios from Vista Cay. See above.

Yes, Vista Cay is very convenient for getting to all the other theme parks, not just at Disney but also at Universal, SeaWorld, and Epic Universe. Vista Cay Resort is the closest vacation home Community to Universal Studios at 4.6 miles and is literally across the street from the new Universal theme park, Epic Universe. SeaWorld is 2 miles away from Vista Cay Resort, located on the other side of the lake between SeaWorld and Vista Cay. 

Is Vista Cay Resort a good location? 

Yes, one of the major advantages of Vista Cay Resort is its location is its proximity to the interstate, which leads directly into Disney World and Hollywood Studios, so although the location might be a little further than, say, vacation home communities in Kissimmee, the drive time is generally much quicker to get into the Disney theme parks.
